Two strategies for modeling nonlinear optics in lossy integrated photonic structures

We present two complementary strategies for modeling nonlinear quantum optics in realistic integrated optical devices, where scattering loss is present. In the first strategy, we model as an attenuation; second, employ a Hamiltonian treatment that includes mechanism loss, such phantom waveguide. These can be applied to broad range of structures and processes. As example, use these approaches spontaneous four-wave mixing (i) ring-channel system (ii) add-drop system. Even well-understood systems, our yield some additional results. show rates photon pairs, broken lost pairs their dependence on parameters. properties related those unscattered which are relatively simple measure.
